Our mission
We support field research from fjords to the open ocean, invest in open data and transparent methods, and back the people and tools that make marine science reproducible and useful. By sharing results widely and partnering with communities, educators, and policymakers, we help transform discovery into decisions that restore habitats, safeguard species, and sustain the ocean for future generations.
This foundation is run by Per's family and has been created with love, gratitude, and a wish to keep his spirit close. Per had a rare gift for noticing the living details of the sea, and for sharing that sense of wonder with others. We honor his memory by supporting open, rigorous marine science, and by inviting more people to experience the quiet beauty of nature—because once you truly see it, you want to protect it.
